Traveling with Children? You need these four things.
Ok, I’m not going to lie. It’s hard to travel with children. Sometimes it’s really hard. But the memories and experiences are totally worth the extra hassle. I’m not alone in feeling that way. My friend Sam has a post about the five big reasons for traveling with kids. So I’ve pulled together my top items you really need to have if you’re traveling with children.

Non-Digital Entertainment
It’s inevitable. If you only plan on battery operated entertainment for kids, you’re bound to run out of juice. Have at least one no-battery-necessary form of enjoyment for kids. This could be a coloring kit, small box of legos, or a book. When you can’t find an outlet during your unplanned layover, you’ll be glad they have this option.
Snack Pack
Hangry kids are no fun at all. Pack a little snack pack. You can use small baggies, but if you have the option, practice sustainability with a reusable container. We use a small bead storage box to hold pretzels, raisins, and other small snack items. The kids love this special container, and they have a small variety of snacks to hold them over.

Kid’s Travel Pillow
Tired kids are also no fun. And they will probably struggle to get comfortable in transit. Take a small pillow along so your kids can nap when necessary. It’s convenient for planes and strollers alike. Here’s a list of the best kid’s travel pillows from our friends over at travelswitheden.blog.
Kid’s Light Jacket or Sweater
When you’re in transit to your vacation destination, the temperatures can be unpredictable. Sitting on an airplane can be unbelievably hot and muggy, or it can be down right bone-chilling. Plan for volatile temps by packing a light jacket or sweater for your kids. Hopefully this will keep the complaining to a minimum when they get chilly!
